Community Need
Access Knowledge Africa has identified 2 key areas of need in the rural communities they serve
The majority of primary schools in Uganda lack proper library resources, leaving countless students without access to essential reading materials that enhance learning and development.
Many low income students in rural areas graduate from secondary school without learning any computer skills, which puts them at a disadvantage and isolates them from the world of technology.
Solution
Utilize computer training to enable children to understand and engage with digital content, making it easier for them to learn how to use computers effectively.
Support schools with donated mini libraries, to foster a culture of learning and curiosity that amplifies, and enhances student potential.
Mobilize youth to volunteer in our “Literacy Champions” program, so they can participate in providing mobile libraries and hands-on activities that engage children in storytelling, reading and writing.
In this way, literacy activities, computers and libraries act as a bridges, ensuring that both traditional and digital learning opportunities are accessible and impactful.
