Meet the Artisan - Namafumba Grace
Grace has the most contagious smile - her energy pulls you in and you can’t help but smile with her. She is a dedicated mother, an adult education student and an accomplished artist with a keen eye for design.
Grace’s 6 year old son, Joseph, has quadriplegia cerebral palsy, which severely affects his gross motor movements, posture and balance. Joseph requires ongoing medical care, which is expensive in Uganda, and requires Grace to spend 1 week per month at a rehabilitation center, where Joseph receives occupational and physical therapy.
Sunrise Centre assists Grace with monthly expenses for Joseph, and in return she provides us with handwoven baskets to support our recurring donor program. It’s a perfect circle of equality, respect, empowerment and cooperation.
