This month has brought BIG Changes! We are very pleased to announce a new partnership - Mr. Isaac Luganda from AHI Uganda has joined Sunrise Centre as the new acting manager of Buiga Sunrise CBO.

AHI is a Ugandan led NGO with 15 years experience - they provide education support, medical camps and community skilling projects all across Ugandan. Their diverse team of skilled professionals will be a great benefit to our community. We are SO HAPPY they are joining us in support of our mission to empower, enrich and help hope grow!

Highlights

A community survey was circulated by Buiga Sunrise alumni students to help us better understand what types of programs the local people themselves want to see offered in their communities. We are joining hands with many, to collectively bring forward the best possible good!

Repainting Sunrise School - interior and exterior!

Construction of a perimeter fence around Sunrise School to improve security - funds donated by our friends at Sunrise Iceland!

Repairing the playground equipment, giving everything a new coat of paint and laying down lots of fresh, soft sand!

Registration of students for the 2025 school year - we open February 3!

Grace Family Clinic is closed temporarily with plans to reopen in May 2025. Our head midwife Amuge Christine is working independently in the community and attending to mothers in their homes, as we finalize plans for the school and then re-focus on community healthcare needs. Step-by-step we are working with local people to reimagine and restructure according to arising and ever-evolving needs.
